In the past, the application of electronic cams
has been successfully done by 9400HL. The design of cam profiles was done with
a cam editor in the engineering tool »L-force Engineer«. Typically, the profile
shapes of electronic cams are optimized a lot during machine commissioning,
meaning a part of the engineering work is represented by optimized cam profiles.
When migrating electronic camming
applications from 9400 to controller-bases motion control system (c5x0, i7x0)
or drive-based motion control system (i950), the cam profile creation in »PLC
Designer« does not allow a direct import of the cam data from »L-force
Engineer«:

Illustration 1: direct cam
data export from »L-force Engineer« to »PLC Designer« is not possible
Instead, there is a way to export
the 9400’s table of points from the »L-force Engineer« project to a standard
ASCII file and import this as a table of points to »PLC Designer«:

export/import via a TXT file from »L-force Engineer« to »PLC Designer« is
possible
The video describes how to export and
import the TXT file from the »L-force Engineer« to »PLC Designer.
