L_MC1P: Quick stop (Drive-QSP) is not executed as expected if QSP is activated during brake closing (corrected from V03.26.00)

Corrected from:
Library: L_MC1P_MotionControlBasic (FAST Motion) from V03.26.00
               (Update via Package Manager)

Response of the new version:
The brake is now applied as expected after the QSP ramp is completed and the controller is locked.

What happens?
If the quick stop (Drive-QSP) is controlled only for a short period of time (a few PLC cycles) while the closing process of the brake via the brake logic is still active, the brake is not applied and the inverter is not locked. No error message is triggered.

When does the behaviour occur?
  • Brake mode (subindex 110) = 'Automatic brake logic (PLC) [2]'.
  • The brake logic for closing is running because the controller inhibit has been set, and
  • during which a quick stop (Drive-QSP) is activated, only for a short duration of a few PLC cycles.
Which products are affected?
Library: L_MC1P_MotionControlBasic (FAST Motion)

Short-term measures / evaluation / recommendations:
If the controller inhibit is set while the axis is moving, this means that the axis is not stopped and moves at constant speed.
The following remedies are possible:
  • use the brake logic in the drive (brake mode (subindex 110) = "Off (logic in drive) [0]) or
  • use the quick stop function QSP-Application instead of the drive QSP, via L_MC1P_SetQuickStopAppl.
