Short-time high starting current of EPM-S701 / EPM-S702 power supply modules (corrected from 1E.34)

Corrected from:
IO-1000 EtherCAT Buskoppler EPM-S130 (ab 1E.34; Material Nr. 13536095)

Behavior of new version:
Optimizations to the firmware were introduced for optimization of the EMC behavior.

What happens?
When switching on I/O compound modules via the EPM-S701 or EPM-S702 power supply modules, a high starting current occurs for a short-time (2-3us).
Depending on the power supply unit, the voltage supply may collapse as a result.
As a consequence, malfunctions or a restart may be triggered in other devices connected to the same voltage supply.

When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour occurs when the I/O compound modules are switched on via the EPM-S701 /EPM-S702 power supply modules.

Which products are affected?
I/O 1000 EPM-S701 / EPM-S702 power supply modules (all versions)

Short-term measures:
Separate the voltage supply from the electronic supply and the 24V supply of the modules.
As an alternative, inject an inductance of 0.1 mH /10A into the +24V voltage supply of the EPM-S701 /EPM-S702 module.
