Position interpolation (0x60C0): New default setting: 'square interpolation' (from V2.10.12)

Function extension:
New Lenze setting for the following parameters:
  • Position interpolation (0x60C0)  =  [-1]  'square interpolation'  (new Lenze setting)
With the new default setting, most of the time, an improved (at least, however, an equally good) drive behaviour will be achieved for all EtherCAT cycle time settings.
In particular in the case of longer cycle times >= 2ms, the positive influence of the square interpolation compared to the previously used linear position interpolation will show effect.
Linearly rising speed characteristics mathematically result in square-law position characteristics (parable). I.e. the square position interpolation corresponds to the actual mathematical relationship between speed and position. Comparative measurements of the drive behaviour with different cycle times have confirmed this.

Contained in which products?
i700 servo inverter,  series devices (V02.x):  from V02.10.12.11906
                                  existing devices (V01.x):  from V01.10.12.11905

Application:
All positioning applications in Cyclic Synchronous Position mode (csp).
Advantage: Now, the parameter no longer has to be changed specifically to optimise the drive behaviour of positioning applications.
