1. Device replacement and/or firmware update
The application or the PLC project with an incorrectly set watchdog monitoring is already stored on the memory module.
-> The monitoring function responds with the start of the application, and an information entry into the logbook is generated. The axis can be operated without restriction.
2. Download of an application with an implausibly set watchdog monitoring to the axis via an engineering tool.
-> The monitoring function responds towards the end of the download and sets the axis to the 'Watchdog cycle greater than task cycle' error status. The error can be reset and the application can then be started; an information entry into the logbook is made.

What happens?
After a firmware update or the replacement of the 9400 standard device, the axis is in a non-resettable error status with the 'Watchdog cycle is greater than task cycle' message (error number 0x246a001b).
When does the problem occur?
If an application (PLC project) is started, the watchdog monitoring time of which is greater than the task cycle of the task with the highest priority, or if no watchdog monitoring time is set at all.
Diagnostics options?
Check of the set watchdog time of the task with the highest priority. The setting of this monitoring time is carried out in the Engineer for a 9400 HighLine or in the PLC Designer for the 9400 Servo PLC during the project creation and cannot be adapted in a parameter later on.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Adaptation of the watchdog monitoring time in the Engineer or PLC project; download of the changed application to the axis.
Evaluation:
The error status cannot be reset; the device cannot be commissioned.
If the standard device is replaced and in the case of a firmware update in the event of service, an adaptation of the Engineer or PLC Designer project and download to the axis is required.
