Resolver support (single encoder concept)

Function description
Up to now, a sine/cosine encoder or a resolver in combination with another position encoder has been required in order to ensure the safe speed detection at the motor. By means of SM301 V1.4 it is now possible to safely detect the speed with only one single resolver serving as feedback system. In order to use the function it is required that the 9400 is at least equipped with firmware V08.
In case of the resolver evaluation the two-pole resolvers RS0 (see motor nameplate), which are inserted as standard, are used in combination with the patented Lenze reverse mode.
This function can be used with the following motor types: MCS, MCA, MQA and MDxKS 56/71. There are no special motor variants which have to be used for safe speed detection. The max. permitted acceleration limit values and deceleration limit values must not be exceeded. The values to be adhered to are mentioned in Sales Topical No. 65/2010.
Since the encoder is a safety-relevant component the encoder must only be exchanged by Lenze.

Included in which products/versions?
Safety module SM301 V1.4

Applications
This function increases the SM301 scope of functions. That way, machines which only use a resolver without position encoder can be equipped with safe speed detection.
