Brake choppers of the 9400 work independently of the controller inhibit (CINH) status of axis or regenerative power supply module

Question:
How does the integrated brake chopper of controllers of the 9400 series react when the controller is inhibited (CINH)?

Answer:
With the 9400 single axes and the 9400 regenerative power supply modules, the activation of controller inhibit (CINH) does not have any effects on the brake chopper.
Even when the controller is inhibited (CINH=1), the brake chopper still responds to the selected brake chopper threshold of the DC-bus voltage since the brake chopper shall also dissipate the brake energy of other DC-bus devices in the DC-bus connection.

Note for the 9400 power supply module and regenerative power supply module:
With these modules, you can also permanently switch on the brake chopper. For this purpose, you need an external 24 V-enable signal via a digital input (regenerative power supply module: freely configurable and power supply module: DIGIN 1). This function can, for instance, be used for a fast discharge of the DC-bus after disconnecting the supply voltage.
With the regenerative power supply module, the brake chopper can additionally be activated via bit 02 in control word 1.
