Behaviour of the new version?
Posi&Shaft V2.0 can now be operated with the new ECS operating system OS V8.0.
In the case of Posi&Shaft V2.0, the latest version of the function library 'LenzeDrive0202' is used, with which the described initialisation problem no longer occurs.
Which products are affected?
ECSxP (Posi & Shaft) <=V1.3 in combination with ECS operating software V8.0.
Please note that only this specific combination is affected.
What happens?
The standard application software Posi&Shaft V1.3 cannot be operated in combination with the ECS operating software V8.0.
Although Posi&Shaft V1.3 can be loaded to the devices which are equipped with operating software V8.0 by means of the GD Loader, the CAN process data communication and, if available, the fieldbus (Profibus) process data communication sporadically do not work after initialisation. The internal ECS PLC program is no longer processed in this case.
When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs immediately after switching on with an occurrence probability of approx. 50 %.
It is caused by a larger number of transmit/read requests which are written to the transmit request memory during initialisation by means of the the L_ParRead / L_ParWrite function. This is especially the case if the ECS Posi&Shaft is used.
If more than the 16 possible requests are pending at the transmit request memory, the operating software sets a corresponding status message. The corrections implemented in operating software V8.0 were based on this status message, i. e. operating software V8.0 is now working as specified. Unfortunately, Posi&Shaft V1.3 still uses the library functions of the older LenzeDrive.Lib version V0201. If the older versions of these functions are used the function restriction described occurs when the new corrected operating software V8.0 is applied.
Possible diagnostics?
The drive does not respond to control signals. The CAN process data communication (PDO channel) and if available, the fieldbus (Profibus) process data communication do not work.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Download the previous operating system software V7.4 by means of the OS Loader V3.0 and the Lenze download module. Afterwards, Posi&Shaft V1.3 is to be loaded by means of the GD Loader via CAN.

Evaluation:
The function restriction already occurs during commissioning and does not result in critical drive operating states. If the problem occurs the drive controller does not process control signals and the drive does not start.
