Changing the motor control mode results in a trip (remedied from B-SW V8.0)

Remedied from:
ECS axis module V8.0

Behaviour of new version?
If the motor control mode selected does not correspond to the motor used the ECS axis module indicates the PRM message (C0168/1 = 1131). A trip is not activated when the motor control mode is changed.
In order to change over to the new operating mode the PLC target system is stopped for a short period of time. The PLC target system is restarted automatically after the changeover.

Which products are affected?
ECS axis module V7.4 and lower

What happens?
If the motor control mode is changed under code C0006 a trip (e. g. AP1, Sd2, Nmax…) may be the result.

When does the problem occur?
The response described above may occur when PLC target system is started (C2108 = 1) and the motor control mode is changed then.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Stop the PLC target system (e. g. by setting code C2108 to 2) before the motor control mode is changed.

Evaluation:
The motor control mode is usually changed only once (during commissioning or in case of a replacement). This function restriction does not occur if the PLC target system has been stopped.
