Simple CAN-based communication system for networking industrial automation equipment (limit value encoder, photo sensors, motor starters, frequency controlled drives, operating terminals etc.) with superimposed controlling equipment.
Two screened and twisted-pair wires within one cable serve as transmission medium. One of them is responsible for communication (with transmission rates of 125 kBit/s, 250 kBit/s or 500 kBit/s and cable lengths of 500 m, 250 m or 100 m) and the other one for power supply of the connected equipment (maximum 8 A when DC voltage is 24 V).
