PLC reset is activated - Reset (original status) is executed (elimination)

Which products are affected?
EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC Version 6.5 DSMC control board)
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC Version 6.5 DSMC control board)
EPL-10200 EI (Drive PLC Version 6.5)

Eliminated function restriction:
Although reset is activated, the system does not carry it out anymore. Reset (original status) was only executed if a RETAIN type variable had been forced before activating the reset.

Which products are affected?
EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC Version 6.2 DSMC control board)
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC Version 6.2 DSMC control board)
EPL-10200-EI (Drive PLC Version 6.2)

What happens?
A Reset (original status) of the target system is executed. All variables including the RETAIN and PERSISTENT variables are reset to the initialisation value. The user program on the control is deleted and the control is reset to its original status.

When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if the user activates a reset command (via DDS Online -> Reset or out of the PLC program). In addition, a RETAIN variable type must have been forced prior to reset activation.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
The error can be avoided if the user does not use this specific combination of actions (forcing a RETAIN variable before activating the reset).

Evaluation:
The conditions required for the occurrence of the function restriction are only rarely complied with in practical applications. The occurrence of the function restriction can be avoided by applying the short-term measures described.
