c250-S: Deadlock after starting the boot application

Corrected from:

Behavior of the new version:

Description of behavior:

If an application is downloaded to the safety controller and a boot application is created, communication with the PLC Designer is interrupted.

The safety controller then crashes every time the boot application is started.

Index 0x2230 (Free Disk Space) displays 0 kB in all subindices.

Conditions under which the behavior occurs:

The behaviour occurs when FBs in an Extended POU are instantiated very often (approx. 1500 times). Depending on the number of FB calls, different application runtimes occur for both microcontrollers until a timeout error occurs. This is the case if the two runtimes differ by more than 1 ms.

The memory requirements and the cycle time of the safety programme are not relevant.

The current number of instances cannot be displayed in the PLC Designer, but must be kept in view during programming.

Affected products:

Safety-Controller C25BAYSQ

Short-term measures, Recommendations, Rating:

Download the project to the safety controller without creating a boot application. The boot application should only be created once it has been ensured that the safety controller can process the programme.

If the language range is sufficient, use a Basic POU.

If the error has occurred, the safety controller must be sent to Lenze Service for repair.
