Positive edge of TouchProbe inputs TP6, TP7, TP8 cannot be evaluated with control cards Rev5 (solved)

Removed from:

9400 Highline V15.50.08, 9400 Servo PLC V09.50.08

Behavior of the new version:

The Touchprobe inputs can also be used without restriction with Rev 5 control cards.

Description of the behavior:

The behavior can be observed as follows:

As soon as the first rising edge has occurred at DigIn_x (x=6, 7, 8), the TPx_bTouchProbeReceived output changes to  TRUE and remains until the device is restarted permanently TRUE.  The TPx_dnTouchProbeTimeLag output begins to display permanently changed values or runs through endlessly.

Conditions under which the behavior occurs:

If the following conditions are met together:

  • The hardware  version of the control card is C210_1 = BC
  • A CAN sync source C1120_0 = 1: CAN on board or 2: CAN module has been parameterized. Default is C1120_0 = 0.
  • The positive touch probe edge is to be evaluated : TPx_bEnablePosEdge of the respective touch probe system module  (x = 6, 7, 8) is TRUE.

Affected products:
9400 Highline V15.50.07, 9400 Servo PLC V09.50.07 on devices with a revision 5 control card

Short-term measures, Recommendations, Evaluations:
The following applicative workarounds are possible:

Possibility 1: The other 5 digital inputs 1-5 are also TouchProbe-capable and can be used without restriction.

Possibility 2:
Alternatively, the negative edge of the affected inputs 6, 7, 8 can be evaluated as a TouchProbe.

Possibility 3:
Do not use CAN synchronization: C1120  parameterize unequal to 1 or 2.
