Function extension:
The existing powerful FAST Toolbox consists of the following components:
- FAST MotionControl (to PLCopen Motion Control)
- FAST Coordinated Motion (to PLCopen Coordinated Motion)
- FAST Technology-Modules
- FAST ApplicationTemplate
Through the further development into the FAST Machine Framework, services will be made available to the FAST Toolbox functions, which will then make standard machine functions even easier to use.
The framework works in a service-oriented architecture, which has the great advantage that all controller functions can be optimally requested and used by higher-level systems (visualisations, IOT connections, ...).
In the first step, this framework brings an improvement in terms of diagnostics, fault management of the machine and machine mapping in a topology view.
All necessary extensions are integrated in the firmware of the Lenze controllers c520, c550 and c750. Additional programming in the PLC user program is not necessary, as all Lenze components are known to the system.
New, customised components can be easily added.
This is illustrated by the new online diagnostic visualisation included in the Lenze controllers c520 and c550. Access is directly via the web browser by entering the IP of the connected controller.
1. Machine topology and functional viewThrough the new FAST Framework, all hardware and software modules are made known to the system.
- i-Series inverter
- I/O-1000: EPM-S131 Gateway and I/O Module
- Safety controller c250-s
- Safety I/O's
- FAST-Toolbox-Modules (Basis, TM's, ...)
- Customer modules
In addition to the registration of all hardware and software components in the system, the relationship of the modules is also recorded.
This enables the framework to display the machine topology with relationships and thus give the machine builder a clearer overview.
2. Optimised machine error management:
Within the framework, the existing error management was improved.
Due to the modularisation of the machine described above (topology of the machine), clear, unambiguously assignable messages and errors can be sent for each individual component (software and hardware).
Additional information in this context is:
- unique name of the component
- Information about the type of component
- new customer target groups for more efficient evaluation of the logbook
- Acquisition of basic components of the machine: IO modules, safety components and customer modules
This then leads to clearer error information and thus to a more efficient service for the customer.
3. Online diagnostic visualisations for universal machine overview and more efficient service
With the introduction of the FAST Framework, a web-based visualisation is available for each service (function).
This visualisation is permanently on the controller and shows the current actual status of the programmed machine constellation.
All that is required is a connection to the controller via TCP/IP and then the visualisation can be addressed via the IP address of the controller.
The two pictures under 1. and 2. show sections of this diagnostic visualisation.
When creating a process visualisation with the engineering tool EASY UI Designer, the visualisation elements of the online diagnosis can be used. This makes it easy to integrate the prepared and networked display for service and diagnostics into the machine visualisation.
