Function extension:
So far, for the 8400, torque limitation could only be performed with the distinction in motor mode or in generator mode. For this, the nTorqueMotLimit and the nTorqueGenLimit inputs are available at the motor interface.
In the case of an actual speed of 0rpm, e.g. when travelling against a mechanical limit stop, the torque limitation toggles because the sign for the actual speed toggles and operation in generator mode is expected. As a consequence, the home position may not be recognised when homing against a mechanical limit stop (homing mode 14, 15). This behaviour becomes particularly apparent in the case of very different limitation values (in motor mode: 10%, in generator mode: 100%)
From firmware version 18.00.00, a changeover function has been added with C2864 bit15 = 1 so that the limit values will be interpreted in a different way:
- nTorqueMotLimit acts as nTorqueHighLimit (positive torque limitation in positive and negative direction of rotation)
- nTorqueGenLimit acts as nTorqueLowLimit (negative torque limitation in positive and negative direction of rotation)
This allows you to generate the same behaviour as for the drives of the 9300, 9400 and i700 series.
With the setting C2864 bit15 = 1, as before, nTorqueMotLimit will be effective for operation in motor mode and nTorqueGenLimit for operation in generator mode.

Application:
The function can be used in applications with torque limitation.
Furthermore, the function is required in special cases, e.g. when 9300 drives have to be replaced.
