Operation of an asynchronous machine with a very high slip speed not possible

Corrected from:
Inverter Drives 8400 StateLine, HighLine, and TopLine from firmware version 14.00.00.00

Response of the new version?
You cannot always see from the nameplate whether you are dealing with an SM or a PSM motor. The setting of the "ASM" or "PSM" motor type can be optionally carried out via a code.
C1001/1: manual entry of motor type:
-0-: automatic, factory adjustment (of the motor; ASM or PSM is detected)
-1-: ASM
-2-: PSM

Which products are affected?
Inverter Drives 8400 StateLine, HighLine, and TopLine with a firmware version lower than 14.00.00.00

What happens?
An asynchronous machine with a high slip speed is detected as synchronous machine by the inverter. Operation in asynchronous machines is not possible then. If "ASM servo control" or "V/f + encoder" is set, a too high output speed is reached

When does the problem occur?
In the case of asynchronous machines with a very high slip speed.

When does the response exactly occur:
(C089 * 60 / C087 – number of pole pairs) > 0.500

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Set rated motor speed C087 to C87 > C089 * 60 / /(0.500 + number of pole pairs)

Evaluation:
If an ASM with a high slip speed is used, it should be checked whether the correct operating mode is set by the inverter. At the same time it is possible to check code C1000. If a PSM is shown, an FW update should be carried out. ollte ein FW-Update erfolgen.
