EtherCAT slaves cannot be accessed using EASY Starter/Engineer

What happens?
The function restriction has the following effects on L-force Engineer and EASY Starter:
  • When scanning devices connected to the EtherCAT bus of the Lenze controller, unknown devices are inserted.
  • When scanning devices connected to the EtherCAT bus of the Lenze controller, all EtherCAT slaves until the first optional device are inserted.
  • EtherCAT slaves cannot be directly inserted in the EASY Starter or Engineer.
When does this behaviour occur?
The above-described behaviour occurs if the concept of the "modular machine configuration" is used in a PLC project and devices connected to the EtherCAT bus of the controller are to be accessed via the controller using the L-force Engineer or EASY Starter.

Which products are affected?
c300 controller V3.12 and higher
3200 C controller V3.10 and higher
p300 panel controller V3.12 and higher
p500 panel controller V3.10 and higher

L-force Engineer
EASY Starter

Short-term measures/recommendations:
Use the PLC Designer or a different communication interface of the EtherCAT slave devices for parameterising/diagnosing these devices.

Evaluation:
If the "modular machine configuration" (of the L_ETC_MMCController or L_ETC_MMCControllerBus function block) is used, devices connected to the EtherCAT of the controller cannot be parameterised/diagnosed via a Lenze controller using the L-force Engineer and EASY Starter.
