Axis bus I/O level drops for 125µs when inverter is started

Corrected from:
Inverter Drives 8400 TopLine V16.00.00

Response of the new version:
When the inverter is started, the axis bus I/O level is no longer set to LOW.

What happens?

Starting an 8400 TopLine later in an axis bus interconnection sporadically leads to an axis bus error (LS_AxisBusIO.bFail_DigIn=TRUE) in one or several of the other axes.

When does this behaviour occur?

  • The axis bus I/O function is activated C2440/1=3
  • The monitoring function is activated C591>0
  • The axis bus nodes are not switched on at the same time, but one node is only started when the axis bus I/O already had TRUE level.

The axis bus I/O level is interrupted for 125µs. Depending on the scanning time, this maybe detected in the axis bus nodes or not.

Which products are affected?
Inverter Drives 8400 TopLine V12.00.00 to V15.02.00

Short-term measures:

Start all axis bus nodes at the same time.

Evaluation/recommendations:

The incorrect response of the monitoring function reduces the availability of the machine. The error can be reset. The behaviour does not occur if all nodes are booted up at the same time.
