Slave remains in operational state in spite of heartbeat error (eliminated from V3.3.2)
Corrected from:
Controller 3200 C V3.3.2
Controller p500 V3.3.2
Behaviour of the new version?
The control detects a communication interruption of the CAN cable if heartbeat is active.
What happens?
In spite of an active Heartbeat, the control does not detect a communication interruption to the slaves after the CAN cable has been removed. The GET_STATE block of the CAA CiA 405 library continues to supply the 'Operational' status.
When does the problem occur?
The response described above occurs if the 'Enable Sync Producing' checkbox in the 'CANopen Manager' tab is active.
Which products are affected?
Controller 3200 C from V3.3
Controller p500 from V3.3
MC-CAN2 CAN card
Diagnostics options?
None
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Use the Nodeguarding function to monitor the CAN bus.
Evaluation:
If CAN PDOs are configured with the 'synchronous' property, an interruption of the CAN communication is not detected by the Heartbeat monitoring.
