Functional description
So far function blocks in the FB Editor could only be used in the application interconnection. If e.g. I/O or bus system input signals were to be linked to a logic function, the signals had to be integrated in the application interconnection first because it was the only place where the corresponding function blocks could be inserted.
From the above-mentioned firmware versions, the function blocks can now be used in the I/O interconnection, too. That way, logic operations or arithmetic functions can also be carried out in the I/O interconnection. The signal interconnection and the diagnostics of the signal flow are highly simplified.
For that purpose, many function blocks have been added which are available from these firmware versions.
