No communication when being connected to a B&R Powerlink master when a dynamic PDO mapping is used in the xdd device description file (eliminated from V1.12 onwards)
Eliminated from:
E94AYCEP Communication module Firmware V1.12 in CN mode (Control Node)
E94AYCEC Communication module Firmware V1.12
Which products are affected?
E94AYCEP communication module ≤ Firmware V1.10 in CN mode (Control Node)
E94AYCEC communication module ≤ Firmware V1.10
What happens?
When the Powerlink master is started the PDO sent from the master to the slave is acknowledged with an error by the Lenze Powerlink module. As a result, the Powerlink master permanently tries to restart the Powerlink network.
When does the problem occur?
This behaviour occurs if a dynamic PDO mapping is included in the xdd device description file. Index 0x 1F82, Bit 6 is used to set whether it is a static or dynamic mapping in the xdd file.
Possible diagnostics?
If the Powerlink master cannot be started and the Lenze Powerlink module always changes from the 'PRE OP2' bus state to 'Initialisation', the problem is caused because the dynamic PDO mapping is activated.
Note:
The Powerlink master and the Lenze Powerlink module also show this behaviour if a start parameter from the master is acknowledged with an error by the Lenze Powerlink module.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Do only use static PDO mapping in the xdd file.
Evaluation:
From Firmware V1.12 onwards the Powerlink communication module can be used with dynamic PDO mapping when being connected to a B&R master.
