Eliminated as of:
ECS Application operating software from V8.3 onwards
EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC) from V8.0 onwards
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC with technology function) from V8.0 onwards
EPL-10200 EI (Drive PLC) from V8.3 onwards
EPL-10200 ET (Drive PLC with technology function) from V8.3
Behaviour of the new version?
The sync mode of the CAN channels CAN2_IO, CAN3_IO works without problems even if the PLC has been stopped and started (e.g. for an electrical shaft).
Which products are affected?
ECS Application operating software <= V8.0
EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC) <= V7.x
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC with technology function) <= V7.x
EPL-10200 EI (Drive PLC) <= V8.2
EPL-10200 ET (Drive PLC with technology function) <= V8.2
What happens?
Step change in torque accompanied by cracking noises on the slave axes of the electrical shaft occur.
When does the problem occur?
The response described before occurs when the CAN channels CAN2_IO and CAN3_IO are used in sync mode (system variable CAN_bTxCanXSynchronized_b=TRUE) with a synch cycle time >=2ms (e.g. with an electrical shaft). In very few cases the response occurs immediately when switching on the mains. The response described occurs frequently when the PLC is started via C2108.
Possible diagnostics
Cracking noises occur if a PLC stop is followed by a PLC start.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Do not stop the PLC in the axis, or perform a restart to reinitialise the electrical shaft interconnection when the problem occurs.
Evaluation:
When the problem occurs, the machine does not run smoothly and in the worst-case scenario it may result in an offset between the master axis and the slave axis of the electrical shaft.
Remedial measures are described.
