Incorrect homing following project download (remedied from V7.0)

Remedied from:
9400 HighLine SW V7.0

Behaviour of the new version?
If a homing procedure is started immediately after a project has been downloaded and an error message acknowledged, the home position is no longer shifted. Home offset C2642 is always taken into account correctly.

Description of the problem
The position reached on completion of homing varies.

When does the problem occur?
The behaviour occurs after a project download if ...
  • ... The home offset in C2642 is set to a non-zero value and
  • ... Homing is requested (system variables HM_bEnable = TRUE, HM_bActivate = TRUE) immediately after the download and
  • ... The controller is only inhibited by means of an error message that is still present (e.g. 'Motor brake: Status monitoring error') and
  • ... Homing starts immediately after the error message has been acknowledged/cleared.

Diagnostics options?
After it has detected the event that defines the home position (touch probe, zero pulse, etc.), the drive continues to move by an integer factor of the distance entered in C2642. The integer factor corresponds to the number of project download procedures.

Which products are affected?
9400 HighLine SW ≤ V5.1

Short-term measures/recommendations?
The behaviour does not occur if homing is not started immediately after the download and the controller inhibit is instead allowed to remain in place for a short time.

Evaluation:
The behaviour only occurs in very unusual operating situations (immediate homing after the mains power has been switched on and a fault acknowledged) and has only been observed on one single occasion in the field. Since projects are not downloaded during normal operation, this behaviour is not relevant for active applications.
