Encoder monitoring Sd8

Applications

Applications with high requirements regarding resolution and accuracy for speed and position information, achieved by using SinCos encoders.

Function description

The monitoring function of the feedback system connected to terminal X8 of the controller has been extended by malfunction monitoring. The values for the sine/cosine tracks of the encoder, detected by the controller, are checked for plausibility. As a result, the following malfunctions are detected:

1. Plug withdrawn, all encoder signals are open
2. Simple wire breakage, one of the signals COS A, RefCOS A, SIN B, RefSIN B, GND, VCC is missing.
3. Double wire breakage of the signal pairs COS A and RefCOS A; SIN B and RefSIN B; COS A and SIN B; RefCOS A and RefSIN B, as well as all 4 of these signals open
4. Sine/cosine encoder types selected by Lenze are supported.
Note
Errors not being described under points 1...4, e. g. short circuits between the signal cables, cannot be identified reliably by the function.

An identified error in the encoder system is displayed under C0168 with error message Sd8.
The error can only be reset by mains connection.
The error response can be configured as 'TRIP' and 'OFF' via code C0580. In the default setting the function is deactivated when being set to 'OFF' due to the compatibility to be adhered to with older versions. I
f required, the encoder must move by some angular degree in order to activate an error.

Attention
A signal output MONIT-SD8 was added in the function block MONIT.
