Master current input 4?20 mA, overflow at 40 mA (elimination)

Which products are affected?

Function restriction eliminated on the 9300EP servo positioning controller as of Version V6.2.

Eliminated function restriction

If the master current input 4…20 mA was subjected to an excessively high master current of 40 mA, it was possible that the input value was inverted. Owing to this inversion there was a risk of positive feedback in the control circuit if, for example, the measuring signal of a tension measuring station was inverted.
Now there is no longer any inversion and the value is limited internally.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

None, or do not set excessively high master current.

Evaluation:

A master current of 40 mA is well above the defined range of 4…20 mA and should therefore not be able to occur at the terminals.
If it cannot be avoided, the only solution is to replace the firmware.
