Homing modes 4 and 5 with encoder (elimination)

Which products are affected?

Function restriction eliminated on the 9300EP servo positioning controller as of versions V2.6 and V6.2.

Eliminated function restriction

With homing modes 4 and 5 with encoder or Sin/Cos encoder as position sensor an incorrect home position was determined in some cases if during homing an zero pulse had occurred and the home position was then calculated from it internally.
After leaving the homing switch (negative signal to REF-MARK) there is now always a search for the next zero pulse, irrespective of the previous occurrence of zero pulses, so the home position is always found reliably.

Possible diagnostics?

Drive is sporadically in the wrong position after homing.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

Use a different homing mode.

Evaluation:

Uncritical in practice because modes 4 and 5 are seldom used and there are other modes available.
