Limited performance of the parameter gateway

Which products are affected?

EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC Version 6.3 DSMC control board)
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC Version 6.3 DSMC control board)
EPL-10200-EI (Drive PLC Version 6.3)

What happens?

A gateway for codes is available under code C0370. This gateway permits access to codes of a slave device via CAN. The master device is accessed via the AIF interface.

The gateway has the following restrictions:

1. Only system codes ranging from C0001 – C2999 can be written and read.
2. Only codes ranging from C3000 – C7999 can be read. A write access to these codes is not possible.
3. The 'Timeout' time for the access to the slave devices is approx. 240 ms and cannot be changed.
When does the problem occur?

If a value larger zero is set under code C0370 all writing/reading accesses are diverted to the node address set under code C0370.

Possible diagnostics?

None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

Write access to the codes C3000 – C7999 of a slave device is possible by using the 'L_ParWrite' function block.
In case of a high bus load the 'Timeout' time may be activated more easily.

Evaluation:

The gateway function is often used to set the parameters of frequency inverters (e. g. 8200 vector). In case of this application the restriction described before will not occur.
