"It's all about the people"
Lenze pays tribute to Elisabeth Belling on her 100th birthday
Elisabeth Belling was characterized by her willingness to change and her vision. The focus of her actions was always set on people and their well-being. As a majority shareholder and managing director (1981 - 1986), she accompanied the fortunes of the Hamelin-based company Lenze and, with her decisions, set the course for its development into one of the world's leading automation specialists. On October 24, 2021, the daughter of company founder Hans Lenze would have turned one hundred. Lenze pays tribute to this strong woman with a look at her legacy.
"It's all about the people," was her guiding principle. Accordingly, Elisabeth Belling's actions were characterized by commitment and social responsibility - both for the Lenze company and for the region. She lived in Hamelin until her death in 2013, a few days before her 92nd birthday. Helping people in need, balancing family and career, and education and integration were especially close to her heart. In 1990, she founded the non-profit Hans and Clara Lenze Stiftung, which is dedicated to promoting young talent in science, research, education and training in the region.
Elisabeth Belling - founder's daughter and company leader
Elisabeth Belling has been involved in Lenze's fortunes since the company was founded in 1947. Even as a young woman at her father's side, she determined the future course of the company and set significant impulses. She prevented the sale of the company and promoted internationalization in the 1960s. After the death of her husband Alfred Belling in 1981, she took over operational responsibility in the management. From 1981 to 1986, she steered the company and was the majority shareholder for many years. She courageously led Lenze into the future by also taking unconventional paths: In 1996, she had the electronics production built in Groß Berkel, in contrast to the trend at the time to relocate production abroad. In 2001, she arranged for the company to change its name to a stock corporation. These achievements made her one of the most formative personalities in Lenze's company history.
Elisabeth Bellings' intangible legacy
Elisabeth Bellings' values and attitude to life have become part of Lenze's corporate culture. In its daily interactions and in its contact with customers, service providers, and partners around the world, Lenze is characterized by innovative strength, a willingness to change, and a spirit of partnership.
