Function extension: The preset Windows CE system colours in a WindowsCE 5.0 IPC (e. g. EL/CPC/CS x700) differ from the ones in a WindowsCE 6.0 IPC (e. g. EL/CPC/CS x800).
Proceed as follows to set the system colours of a WindowsCE 6.0 IPC to the system colours of a WindowsCE 5.0 IPC:
1. Create a PreStart.txt in unicode format and save it in the \UsbStorage (SD card) or \Storage (CF card).
2. Enter the following command lines in the PreStart.txt file:
; Set system colour to WindowsCE 5.0
open "\windows\SetSysColor.exe" "/CE5"
3. Restart the IPC. The system colours are now set to the ones in a WindowsCE 5.0 IPC.
Delete the PreStart.txt or adjust the command lines in the PreStart.txt as follows in order to re-activate the original WindowsCE 6.0 system colours:
; Set system colour to WindowsCE 6.0
open "\windows\SetSysColor.exe" "/CE6"
Restart the IPC afterwards.
Please find enclosed an example for a PreStart.txt which sets the system colour to WindowsCE 5.0.
Included in which products/versions?
The 'SetSysColor.exe' file is included in IPCs x800 from firmware V2.6.1.30 onwards and in the 3200C from firmware V3.3 onwards.
In case of IPCs/controllers equipped with an older firmware the file can be downloaded here. The target path in the PreStart.txt must be adjusted accordingly if necessary.
