EPROM - Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory

Semiconductor-memory element which can be programmed by the user. In contrast to the PROM the content of an EPROM can be deleted with UV-light (ultraviolet light); after this a new programming of the EPROM is possible. If the voltage supply fails, the EPROM does not lose any information.
