KTY temperature sensors (silicon sensors) have a positive temperature coefficient like PTC sensors and an almost linear temperature characteristic - in contrast to the PTCs.
Their behaviour of resistance can be compared to the one of a sensor resistor with a very high temperature coefficient. Consequently, the main application field of the KTY temperature sensors (silicon sensors) is the temperature measurement and the limit value monitoring in the fields:
