H502 and H505 are not supported by the Font Editor

Which products are affected?
ESP-HMI1-P (HMI Designer as of version 1.6)
EPM-H502 (Touch screen)
EPM-H505 (Touch screen)

What happens?
It is not possible to create new character sets for the H502/H505 keypads in the Font Editor of the HMI Designer.
The character set ESA8X15.FON is included in the delivery package of the HMI Designer for the H505 keypad. In this character set only the first 8 characters can be modified.

When does the problem occur?
The Font Editor included in the HMI Designer version 1.6 with Service Pack 1 does not support the H502 and H505 keypads.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short term measures/recommendations?
For the operating unit H502 the same characters as for the operating units H410 and H510 can be used. Characters for the H410/H510 can be created by means of the Font Editor. These characters can then also be used for the H502 keypad.
In case of the H505 keypad only the first 8 characters in a character set can be modified by using the Font Editor.
Both keypads (H502 and H505) have a graphical display. This means that alternatively to the character sets of the Font Editor it is also possible to use Windows character sets (true type fonts with max. 256 characters).

Evaluation:
The creation of whole character sets by means of the Font Editor is very time-consuming. Therefore, the Font Editor mainly modifies or adds some characters to the existing character set. Usually, Windows character sets are used.
