Which products are affected?
Function restriction eliminated on the 9300EP servo positioning controller as of versions V2.5 and V6.1.
Eliminated function restriction
In positioning mode 'Absolute positioning with saving' (C1210 = 2) the controller always initialised with home position known (REF-OK = 1), even if no homing had taken place yet. After the first mains connection during the initial commissioning procedure the controller now reports back with REF-OK = Low. The status 'REF-OK' is now stored when the mains connection is switched off and it is re-initialised accordingly when switching it on again. This ensures that the drive cannot be positioned if the home position is lost in the meantime or no referencing has taken place at all yet.
Possible diagnostics?
Request status REF-OK at the control end.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
During the initial commissioning procedure and after any faults in which the homing position lost, perform a homing from the control end.
Evaluation:
With this adaptation greater operational reliability is achieved. If after an encoder error the home position is lost, after mains connection it is now absolutely essential to execute the necessary homing procedure first.
