Oscilloscope function - required time for calculations

Question:

How much time does the oscilloscope function require for calculations on PLC products?

Answer:

The virtual calculation time is 70 µs. It is to be considered as a constant independent from the number of applied channels. The real calculation time can slightly fluctuate independent from the used functionality.

It is, however, lower than the above-mentioned 70 µs.

The activation of the oscilloscope function is effected by:

• Integration of the system function block in the PLC configuration
• Application of the input variables 'OSZ_bUsed' in a POU (-> generating the process image)

The cycle time of the oscilloscope function depends on the cycle time of the task, in which the variable 'OSZ_bUsed' was used (see 20021550 - 'Oscilloscope function: shortest scanning time').
