IO-Link: Reference position is permanently known

Functional Extension:

The reference position is reconstructed after a restart using the stored position offset.
Re-homing is not required.
"Homing done" remains permanently set to TRUE.

Application:
IO-Link absolute encoders provide the absolute position after a restart.

Parameter 0x500B:085 can be used to define whether the "Homing done" status remains permanently set.

  • default behavior [0]
A new homing procedure must be performed after every device restart.

  • permanently set [1]
A homing procedure after a restart is not required. The reference position is permanently considered known.

Note: Once enabled, the reference status cannot be reset.

The position offset between the sensor value and the displayed position is stored in parameter 0x500B:086. The user can either enter an offset manually or have it determined automatically during a homing procedure.

Important: The parameter set must be saved manually. Otherwise, the position cannot be reconstructed correctly after a restart.
