The focus in the dialog boxes changes in windowed mode

Description of the behavior:
For each object opened in the device tree, a tab opens in the main window. These tabs can be dragged and dropped from the interface and displayed in a separate, freely positionable window (window mode). In window mode, however, the following functional limitations apply when switching between online and offline modes:
  • The focus on the dialogs changes randomly.
  • The dialogs are rebuilt and displayed in their initial state. For some dialogs, this may differ from the current state.
  • Reinitializing the dialog display can take quite a long time for dialogs with many elements.
Under what conditions does this behavior occur?
This behavior occurs only when the dialogs are displayed in window mode and the system switches between online and offline modes.

Affected products:
PLC Designer version 3.21 and later

Short-term measures:
None

Assessment/Recommendations:
In terms of functionality, this behavior has no impact; the parameters retain their values. However, it hinders workflow because the dialog’s focus—and, in some cases, its internal layout—must be manually reset repeatedly. Lenze therefore recommends not using window mode.

Note: No change is planned for this behavior
