PROFINET: NTP time synchronisation takes place only once after power-on (corrected from V01.08.00)

Corrected from:
Servo Inverter i950 from V01.08.00

Response of the new version:
The synchronisation of the system time via the PROFINET interface now takes place every time a connection is established.

What happens?
The synchronisation of the system time with the NTP server via the PROFINET interface only takes place once after restarting the i950.
However, the prerequisite for this is that a connection to the NTP server via PROFINET already exists at this time.
If the connection is established later, the time synchronisation will no longer take place and the system time will continue to be maintained autonomously, with reference to the last existing time information when the device was switched off.

When does the behaviour occur?
  • PROFINET interface and
  • the connection to the NTP server is only established after the device has been restarted.
Which products are affected?
Servo Inverter i950

Short-term measures / evaluation / recommendations:
As a workaround, the synchronisation of the system time via NTP server can be carried out manually:
  • Setting parameter 0x245A:1 = [1] "Activate NTP server address".
