Controller with Profinet: When updating the controller the wrong library version is used (fixed with V3.19)

Corrected from:
Cabinet Controller 3200C V3.19
Cabinet Controller c300 V3.19
Panel Controller p500 V3.19

Response of the new version:
With the device description for the current controller firmware versions the library IoDrvCIFXProfinetDevice2 is always used with version V3.5.7.31. When updating a project there is no indication that a newer library version is available.

What happens?
  • In the Lenze controller the exception error 'Access violation' occurs.
  • Error messages occur during project download.
When does the behaviour occur?
The behavior described above can occur if the controller is updated to a newer firmware version in an existing PLC Designer project and a Profinet-IO device (MC-PND) is configured for the controller in the project.

Which products are affected?
Controller 3200C
Panel controller p500
Controller c300
PLC Designer
Short-term measures:
Make sure that the library IoDrvCIFXProfinetDevice2 in the library manager is set to version V3.5.7.31. If necessary, change this via the placeholder setting.

Evaluation/Recommendations:
Updating a controller in a PLC project can lead to an exception error in the controller after the project download if a Profinet-IO device card is used in the controller. An applicative solution is described under Short-term measures.
