Corrected from:
3200 C controller V3.13
p500 panel controller V3.13
Response of the new version:
If an SD card of a controller with a higher firmware version is plugged into a controller with a lower firmware version, the controller will indicate the following message:
Inserted SD card has higher version than the system. Please update the controller first.
After this, the controller will stop and won't boot so that the error will be detected immediately.
To ensure that the controller accepts the SD card, update the firmware of the controller.
What happens?
After replacing the SD card and switching the mains for the controller, Ethernet communication with the controller cannot be established.
When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour occurs if the SD card of a controller with a higher firmware version is plugged into a controller with a lower firmware version.
Which products are affected?
3200 C controller from V3.1
p500 panel controller from V3.3.2
Short-term measures:
Create a backup of the controller with the higher firmware version (e.g. using the Backup&Restore software) and load the backup into the controller with the lower firmware version (restore). During this procedure, it is absolutely necessary that the original SD card is plugged into the controller with the lower version.
Evaluation/recommendations:
When replacing a controller (e.g. in the event of servicing), the SD card is replaced. For this, the firmware version of the replacement device must be identical with or higher than the software version on the SD card. If this is not the case, the firmware of the replacement device must be updated e.g. by means of Backup & Restore (see 'Short-term measures'). For more information on device replacement, please refer to the 'Controller - Parameter setting and programming' reference manual.
