Behaviour of the new version?
At the digital frequency output, the increments are provided correctly even if the numbers of increments do not equal a power of two.

Which products are affected?
9400 HighLine SW ≤ V05.01.01.00
What happens?
Error increments in the power pulse current and a drift occur. In the course of time, a gap between the master drive and the slave drive is the result for plants in a master/slave operation.
When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if a value is set for codes C13011, C14011 (specification of the number of increments for the DFIN input of the module in the MX1 or MX2 slot) or codes C13051, C14051 (specification of the number of increments for the DFOUT input of the module in the MX1 or MX2 slot) which does not correspond to the power of two.
Possible diagnostics?
Check codes C13011, C14011, C13051, C14051. The described behaviour will occur if a value has been set which does not correspond to the power of two.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Only values corresponding to the power of two are permissible numbers of increments in codes C13011, C14011, C13051, C14051 (e.g. 2048, 4096). If the incremental encoder to be connected to the digital frequency module has a number of increments unequal to the power of two, the power of two which is nearest to the actual number of increments must be set, and the DFIN/DFOUT signal in the application must be evaluated by the factor which results from the ratio between the actual number of increments of the encoder and the set number of increments. The L_SdFactor block can be used for the evaluation. It is a remainder-considered block and thus no information loss will occur.
Evaluation
Most of the incremental encoders have a number of increments which corresponds to the power of two (common numbers of increments are e. g. 2048, 4096). These incremental encoders do not show the described behaviour. In the case of incremental encoders with a number of increments unequal to the power of two, the problem can be remedied by observing the short-term measures/recommendations.
