What happens?
The installation of the device data update 5 is cancelled and the following error message is indicated:
The update program could not detect any Global Drive Control or DriveServer version on the computer.
For update, at least one Global Drive Control or DriveServer version must be available.
The installation will be cancelled.
Device data update 5 is not installed.
When does the problem occur?
Device data update 5 can only be installed if at least one of the following programs is installed on the PC:
- Drive PLC Developer Studio Professional V2.3
- Drive PLC Developer Studio Basic V2.3
- Global Drive Control V4.10
- Global Drive Control easy V4.10
- Global Drive Oscilloscope V1.2
If, for instance, only the Global Drive Control software together with the Lenze Drive Server are installed on the PC the device data update cannot be installed.
Possible diagnostics?
Check whether one of the software products mentioned before is installed on your PC.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Install Global Drive Control easy V4.10 (GDC easy) on your PC. The GDC easy software can be downloaded free of charge on the Lenze Application Knowledge Base.
Evaluation:
The device data update cannot be installed under certain circumstances. In this case the new device versions which are installed by means of GU5 are not supported by the installed software products. In most cased one of the Lenze software products mentioned above is installed.
