Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-P (Drive PLC Developer Studio Professional V2.x)
ESP-SPAC-WND1 (Software Package - Winder)
ESP-SPAC-CAM1 (Software Package - CAM)
ESP-SPAC-POS1 (Software Package - Positioner)
What happens?
In the information window (menu item: Help>About) the installed target systems (targets) and the installed Software Packages (e.g. the Software Package Positioner) are indicated.
The following situations may occur if the installed Software Packages are indicated:
1. One or several Software Packages are installed but not indicated.
2. One or several Software Packages are indicated in the information window but they are not installed for this DDS version.
When does the problem occur?
Independent of the DDS version Software Packages are entered in the Windows Registry when they are installed. If the DDS version is uninstalled these Registry entries are deleted again.
This means if several DDS versions are installed on the PC at the same time no Software Package is indicated in the information window anymore if one of the DDS versions is deleted again after installation of the Software Packages (see above: 1.).
If another DSD version is installed on the PC after the installation of DDS and Software Packages the installation of Software Packages is indicated in this new DDS version although they are not available (see above: 2.).
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Reinstall the missing Software Packages on your PC.
Evaluation:
If several DDS versions are installed at the same time on a PC which is used for developing programs it may happen that the installed Software Packages are not indicated correctly in the DDS information window. This function restriction can be eliminated by reinstalling the Software Packages.
