Why does the template Positioner V3.1 only run on a servo PLC with dSMC control board with an operating system as from version 6.0?
Answer:
The Positioner template internally uses variables of type PERSISTENT, which require a dSMC control board. On the VeCon control board, no variables of type PERSISTENT are available.
In the so-called PERSISTENT memory (system variables with module number 171) 32-byte data can be saved non-volatile and are therefore available to the program after mains switching. Unlike the retain memory, data remain in the persistent memory after another program download.
Persistent variables are available only as from operating system version 6.0 together with the dSMC control board.
