Motor temperature monitoring with early warning

Question:

Which settings are to be done, so that in case of motor overheat first, there is an early warning instead of a Trip?

Answer:

If the motor temperature exceeds the temperature of 150 °C, which is set in the drive controller, an OH3-trip is activated. If no temperature sensor is linked to X7/X8, the monitoring can, however, be switched off with C0583 = 3.

The parameter setting of an early warning is possible under C0584 (2 = Warning or 3 = Off respectively ). In case of exceeding a message OH7 is given. Under C0121 the tripping temperature is set. The signal OH7 is available at the function block MONIT. A temperature feedback via KTY to X7 or X8 is required:

Important:
If the early warning function via OH7 is to be used, OH3 is to be set on Trip (C0583 = 0). If OH3 is set on Off, (C0583 = 3) the motor temperature monitoring is switched off.
