Safety parameter list tab: Select "Save safe parameter set" (no change planned)

Corrected from: no correction planned

Description of the behavior: When using an i950 ES with TA CiA 402, a safety controller including FSoE (Fail Save over EtherCat) is always required. The checksum (CRC) of the safe parameter set must be stored in the safety controller.

In the safety parameter editor, the selection for saving the CRC "On a overlaidcontroller" and "On this device" In the safety parameterization editor, always select the option "On a overlaid controller" to save the safe parameter set.

If the selection "On this device" is selected and a SD card is inadvertently inserted in the i950, the safe parameters including the corresponding CRC are loaded from there when the device is switched on. As soon as the EtherCAT has started up, the safe parameters and the CRC are overwritten when the parameters are downloaded from the controller to the inverter. The safe parameters may then no longer match the CRC transferred by the safety controller and it may not be possible to enable the inverter.

It is technically not possible to change the selection "On this device" so that the correct setting is automatically used when the CiA 402 application is selected.

Conditions under which the behavior occurs:

  • i950 ES with Cia 402 application and inserted SD card

Affected products: i950ES

Short-term measures, Recommendations, Rating:

Do not insert an SD card into the i950 ES if the TA CiA 402 is used.
