A parameter set file (*.GDC) can be loaded error-free into an i550 V6 or larger frequency inverter using the EASY Application Loader, even if the parameter set file was created for an i500 with a lower firmware version.

When downloading a parameter set file (*.GDC) with the EASY Application Loader, the error message appears:

When downloading a parameter set file (*.GDC) into an i550 V6.x frequency inverter with the EASY Application Loader, the error message described above occurs if the parameter set file was created for an i550 frequency inverter with a version lower than V6.x (V1.x - V5.x).

Short-term measures:

Create a new parameter set file (*.GDC) for the i550 V6.x. Proceed as follows:

Start the EASY Starter software.
Open the 'Add Device' dialogue and select the appropriate device description of the frequency inverter i550 with version V6.x in the 'Offline from Package' tab. Note the variant (e.g. i550 ProfiNet standard IO V06.02.00.12) and the frequency (50Hz or 60Hz)!
After you have added the frequency inverter to the device list, import the existing parameter set (*.GDC) into the device. To do this, click on <Import>.
In the 'Import parameter set' dialogue, check whether you have selected the correct offline device for the parameter set file to be imported, e.g. i550 ProfiNet standard IO 50 Hz, the device and Hz variants must match. You can ignore further warnings in the 'Import parameter set' dialogue in the 'Parameter set file details' area, as you are importing a parameter set file from a lower version 1.x-5.x to a higher version 6.x.
After starting the import, the "Import parameter set" dialogue is closed and the EASY Starter transfers the data to the offline device.
Save the parameter set of the unit. To do this, click on <Export> and select all parameters (*.gdc; *.xml; *.csv; *.txt) in the 'Export' dialogue.

The new parameter set file thus contains the parameter values of the original parameter set file and can be downloaded into an i550 V6.x with the EASY Application Loader.

Evaluation / recommendations:

A parameter set file created by an i550 V5.x or smaller cannot be loaded into an i550 V6.x. This functional restriction particularly affects the exchange of units and series commissioning. An application solution is described under 'Short-term measures'.
