Controller does not start after executing a restore

What happens?
  • Boot phase is not completed.
  • Controller often restarts.
  • Controller does not start.
When does this behaviour occur?
If a restore, i.e. restoring a backup or an update in the controller, is not completed, the controller is in an undefined system state and the above-described behaviour may occur. The behaviour can e.g. be caused by removing the USB stick or switching the mains for the controller while executing a restore.

Which products are affected?
c300 controller from V3.8
p300 panel controller from V3.8

Short-term measures:
Repeat the restore.
If the restore does not start and/or the red controller LED is blinking, delete the contents of the SD card. Please take care that you do not delete the Application Credit on the SD card. After this, repeat the restore.

Evaluation/recommendations:
If the restore of a backup is aborted, the controller is in an undefined system state. Under 'Short-term measures' you will find a description how to restore the backup.

Hint:
As of controller firmware V3.16, the status of the restore is indicated by an LED. As long as the status 1 LED flashes yellow, the restore is active and the controller must not be switched off.
