Touch probe: Reciprocal influence when using both TP inputs of the i700 at the same time (corrected from V1.7.5)

Corrected from:
- i700 servo inverter  V01.07.05.10577

Response of the new version:
The activation of one of the TP inputs dosn't influence the TP detection of the other TP input anymore from now on.

What happens?
The activation of one of the TP inputs influences the TP detection of the other TP input.
Under certain conditions, the status information in the status word for the registration of a TP event (TP edge, rising or falling) gets lost because the corresponding status bit is erroneously deleted too early. As a result, the status information does not arrive at the application program in the controller for touch probe evaluation.

When does the problem occur?
- The problem only occurs if both TP inputs are used at the same time and
- the TP event (TP edge) at one of the inputs occurs almost simultaneously with the activation of the other TP input.
- The critical overlap time in which the TP event and the activation must not take place more or less at the same time is approx. 2x the EtherCAT transmission cycle.

Which products are affected?
- i700 servo inverter ≤ V01.06.03.9953

Short-term measures/recommendations:
If both TP inputs are used in an application, ensure that there will be a certain time interval between the activation of one of the TP inputs and the occurrence of the TP event of the other TP input. To be on the safe side, select a time interval of at least 2x the EtherCAT cycle time.

Evaluation:
The described problem can only occur in specific applications. It will only occur, if both TP inputs shall actually be evaluated in overlapping time periods and the TP event and the activation furthermore take place more or less at the same time. For this reason, the probability of occurrence of this problem is very low.
Experience has shown that in most applications only one TP is used at a time so that the problem does not arise.
