Automatic switching frequency change-over (C0018=2) - Torque peak at moment of change-over

Which products are affected?
ECS Application OPERATING SYSTEM  <= V8.3

What happens?
Torque peaks can occur and may lead to noticeable 'knocking noises'.

When does the problem occur?
During operation with automatic switching frequency change-over (C0018 = 2) and high torque (output current) at the moment of switching frequency change-over.

Diagnostics options?
Occurrence of 'knocking noises' whenever the switching frequency of the controller is changed over on account of the load.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Set the switching frequency to a fixed value of 4 kHz (C10018 = 1).

Evaluation:
The torque peaks described only occur under certain load conditions and they do not have a significant effect in every application. Where they do, a simple remedy is available; see above.
