Behaviour of the new version?
Now, the drive responds correctly during reversing when being traversed after homing has been interrupted. The 'following error' fault message does not occur any longer.

What happens?
An approched limit switch or homing switch can be retracted in manual jog mode but the drive does not stop correctly. The drive continuous to move in an uncontrolled way and a following error is generated. When the following error tolerance is reached, the following error monitoring function responds and stops the drive.
When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if the following conditions are complied with:
- Homing in a homing mode in case of which it is under normal conditions to be reversed at the limit switch or homing switch AND
- homing is interrupted at the limit switch during reversing before standstill (controller inhibit, quick stop) AND
- afterwards the drive is enabled and moved back into the travelling range.
Possible diagnostics?
Interrupt homing when the limit switch is reached by setting controller inhibit. Return to the travelling range afterwards, e.g. by using the manual jog mode. The following error monitoring function responds if the following error tolerance is set accordingly and the monitoring function is not deactivated.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
If homing has been interrupted as described before, carry out mains switching for reinitialisation purposes before retracting.
Evaluation:
This problem is not very important in practice:
- It is very unlikely that the problem occurs because the interruption must exaclty appear in the short decelaration ramp phase during reversing in order to provoke the behaviour described.
- It does not make sense in practice to link the limit switch with controller inhibit (CINH) if the limit switch is used for homing at the same time.
- If the problem has occurred the following error monitoring responds and stops the drive.
